The Shirt 2023 design is a tribute to the long lasting tradition of Notre Dame Football. The illustration encapsulates the evolution of the history of Notre Dame Football, and honors those who have come before us and have paved the foundation for the current generation of Notre Dame Football. 

The color epitomizes the vibrant history of Notre Dame Football as a reflection of the traditional Notre Dame green and represents the pride of Notre Dame Football fans. The color will stand out and showcase this tradition in and outside the stadium.

Join the Notre Dame community from 4:30-6:00pm and enjoy performances from talented student groups, special guest appearances, and the design reveal at 6:00 pm. Additionally, to celebrate The Shirt 2023 Unveiling, this year's Hype Week will begin on Monday, April 17, and features Chick-Fil-A, a dunk tank, a scavenger hunt, and a The Shirt throwback event!…

The Shirt Committee has chosen the vendor for The Shirt 34! After carefully reviewing proposals from various vendors, the Committee is excited to announce Colosseum Athletics as the vendor for The Shirt 2023. Colosseum excels in utilizing production and distribution resources to produce quality and well-designed t-shirts. The Committee is confident that Colosseum’s experience with The Shirt will help innovate and carry out Notre Dame’s rich tradition through this project, and looks forward to creating another remarkable Shirt that unites all Notre Dame Football fans. The design of The Shirt 2022 is inspired by the electricity of Notre Dame Football games and the excitement for the upcoming season. The design captures an authentic image celebrating Notre Dame’s victories both on and off the field. 

 

The traditional navy color of The Shirt 2022 was chosen as a key symbol of Notre Dame’s identity. The simplicity of the front design makes this year’s shirt fit for everyday wear.

After a two-year hiatus, The Shirt Project is thrilled to announce the return of a fully in-person Unveiling for The Shirt 2022! Please join us on Library Lawn at the Notre Dame campus from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on Friday, April 22nd for performances from student groups, guest speakers, games, and more! Make sure to stick around for the official unveiling of The Shirt 2022 at 6:00 pm! But do not worry if you're not able to join us in person. There seems to be something in the air at Notre Dame this fall. As the leaves begin to change colors and student life continues its return to normal, the Notre Dame spirit can be felt surging throughout campus. April 23, 2021: This year’s design of The Shirt is intended to capture the spirit and tradition of the Notre Dame Alma Mater. The Committee desired to utilize a simple and recognizable phrase from the Alma Mater on the front design, making The Shirt recognizable as “The Strong and True Shirt.” We chose the phrase “Strong and True” to signify how the Notre Dame family is strong in spirit and true to our community through times of adversity and prosperity.

April 2, 2021: The Shirt Committee is ready to welcome students back for the unveiling of The Shirt 33. On Friday, April 23rd, we will be hosting a live unveiling on South Quad and Library Lawn. Both settings will have food trucks, lawn games, and its own large screen. Both screens will feature messages from Notre Dame celebrities, pre-recorded performances from groups across campus, and exclusive content from The Shirt Committee. The festivities begin at 5:00 pm EST, leading up to the reveal of the new 2021 The Shirt design at 6:00 pm EST.…

The Shirt Project Partners with Colosseum Athletics for its 33rd Edition

NOTRE DAME, Ind., (February 24th, 2021) — In a time of uncertainty, The Shirt Committee continues the tradition that unites Notre Dame fans around the world. We are excited to announce that we have extended our partnership with Colosseum Athletics for The Shirt 2021. Sales of The Shirt are now more important than ever. Proceeds from sales of The Shirt support causes such as The Shirt Charity Fund, which helps students with unexpected medical expenses, and The Office of Student Enrichment, which offers programming and potential resources for members of the Notre Dame community who identify with the first-generation college and/or low-income student experience. Additionally, revenue from The Shirt goes to support the Undergraduate Student Union, which provides funds for student-led clubs and organizations. While many gameday traditions had to come to a sudden halt, students, alumni, and fans can still wear The Shirt and continue their unwavering support for Fighting Irish football. The Shirt 2021 will be unveiled later this spring.…

April 17th, 2020: This year’s design of The Shirt is intended to capture the experience of a Notre Dame game day. To accomplish this, we wanted the front of The Shirt to contain elements familiar to the Notre Dame community. We designed the word “Irish” in a Celtic style - in reference to the mascot, gameday traditions such as the bagpipe band, and the 2020 season opener in Ireland--and wrapped it around a circular window of the Golden Dome--the University’s most-popular landmark.…

The Shirt 2020 To Be Unveiled Virtually on April 17th at 6:00 pm

April 6th, 2020 - The Shirt Committee is excited to unveil its 32nd iteration of The Shirt on April 17th, 2020. The Shirt will be unveiled worldwide virtually at 6:00 pm EST on The Shirt’s official Facebook, Twitter (@theshirtND), Instagram (@theshirtnd), and YouTube accounts. The Committee has created a special unveiling video featuring special footage that concludes with the revealing of this year’s design. Shortly after the video, we will be releasing a detailed description of the design written by The Committee members. The Shirt will be available for purchase on the Hammes online bookstore directly after the 6:00 unveiling. It is currently available for pre-order on the Hammes online bookstore as well. This year’s unveiling shows that nothing can dampen the unwavering spirit of Fighting Irish fans and our optimism for another fantastic football season this fall.…

Thirty years in the making, The Shirt 2019 will be revealed to Irish Fans across the globe this April 12th, with the Unveiling Ceremony starting at 4:30 pm EST.
