NOTRE DAME, Ind., (February 24th, 2021) — In a time of uncertainty, The Shirt Committee continues the tradition that unites Notre Dame fans around the world. We are excited to announce that we have extended our partnership with Colosseum Athletics for The Shirt 2021. Sales of The Shirt are now more important than ever. Proceeds from sales of The Shirt support causes such as The Shirt Charity Fund, which helps students with unexpected medical expenses, and The Office of Student Enrichment, which offers programming and potential resources for members of the Notre Dame community who identify with the first-generation college and/or low-income student experience. Additionally, revenue from The Shirt goes to support the Undergraduate Student Union, which provides funds for student-led clubs and organizations. While many gameday traditions had to come to a sudden halt, students, alumni, and fans can still wear The Shirt and continue their unwavering support for Fighting Irish football. The Shirt 2021 will be unveiled later this spring.

After navigating the committee through many challenges this past year, Committee president Devin Diggs is excited to partner with Colosseum. "The Shirt Committee is thrilled to continue working with Colosseum Athletics to produce The Shirt 2021. Our partners at Colosseum understand the mission of The Shirt and are crucial in helping us reach our goal of creating a piece of Notre Dame history. We can't wait to share the 33rd edition of The Shirt with The Notre Dame community!”

Colosseum’s President John M. Pfeifer is eager to help bring The Shirt to Irish fans across the world. “Colosseum is more than thrilled to once again partner with the students of Notre Dame on the 32nd The Shirt Project!  Like everything over the last year, the process has been different than in years past, mostly virtual- however, our teams have worked closely together to bring you another great design to support a great cause and the Irish when they take the field this coming season! Together Colosseum and ND will again own the stands. Go Irish!”

Colosseum Athletics is the 3rd largest manufacturer of collegiate apparel in the United States. Colosseum produces quality products for collegiate fans across the nation in a socially responsible manner. The Shirt 2021 will be manufactured in Vietnam at the Cotton Shop, which provides workers with an education in personal health to help combat the spread of diseases. They also empower workers with an education in personal finance. The Cotton Shop recently released a new app for workers to express their opinions through surveys and alert employees about important updates. The Shirt will be manufactured during the slower months of the Vietnamese business cycle, creating extra work opportunities for The Cotton Shop’s workers. The design of The Shirt is imprinted in Compton, California.

The upcoming Shirt will mark the Project’s 33rd Shirt and its 32nd year in the Notre Dame communityThe first two Shirts were sold in 1990 — the first to commemorate and promote Notre Dame’s game against Michigan and the second for the game against Miami to raise money for the medical bills of a graduate student who had been seriously injured in a car accident.
