• Is it just for the student body?

  • Notre Dame fans of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend The Shirt Unveiling!

• Who can I contact if I have questions?

• How early can I get there/can I reserve seats?

  • The event begins at 4:30pm.  Because this event is outdoors and seating will be limited, we recommend bringing portable lawn chairs should standing for a long period of time be a concern.

• Where is the event taking place?

  • This year The Shirt Unveiling will be taking place at Eddy Street Commons (just south of Notre Dame Stadium near the intersection of Angela Boulevard and Eddy Street).

• Where can I park?

  • Parking will be available in the garage on Eddy Street.  To drive up, one should enter via Burns or Napoleon streets.

• Is parking free?

  • Parking is free for the first two hours.  For the latest garage rates, visit http://www.eddycommons.com/parking.

• Do I need a ticket? Is there an admission fee?

  • No! The event is free and open to all!

• Will Eddy Street be closed to vehicle traffic?

  • Yes! Eddy Street will be blocked off from cars for the entirety of the event.

• Where are the restrooms?

  • There will be portable restrooms on the intersection of Eddy Street and Napoleon near Brother’s.

• Will First Aid be available?

  • Yes!  A team of first responders will be on site should anyone need assistance.

• Is weather a factor to this event?

  • This event is rain or shine.  In the event of severe weather, the event will be moved inside to the Embassy Suites’ Ballroom.  Check our social media pages for updates in the event of severe weather.

• Will there be seats? Can I bring a lawn chair?

  • There will be a limited number of seats available upon request; however, we suggest bringing portable lawn chairs should standing for a long period of time be a concern.

• Is the event handicap accessible?

  • Yes.  In the event you require specific needs, please reach out to us via email (theshirt@nd.edu) or direct message us on social media (@TheShirtND), and we will do our best to accomodate.

• Is the event child-friendly?

  • Yes. Friends and family are welcome!

• How long is the event?

  • The event starts at 4:30pm and will conclude at 8pm.

• When does the actual unveiling of The Shirt happen?

  • The unveiling of The Shirt 2019 will occur at approximately 6:00pm EST; however, we have plenty of entertainment and a few surprises throughout the event that you won’t want to miss!

• Will the event be live-streamed?

  • Yes!  It will be livestreamed on our website, www.theshirt.nd.edu.

• What should I wear?

  • This event is casual and outdoors.  That being said, dress for the weather.  If you want to be real spirited, consider wearing the color that you think The Shirt 2019 will be!

• Is there a map of the event?  I just can't quite picture it.

  • Yes, see below!

Food/Entertainment

• What time will there be entertainment?

  • There will be entertainment from various student groups starting at 4:30pm.  After the Unveiling at 6pm, local cover band UltraFab will take the stage until 8pm.

• Will there be special guests at the event?

  • Yes!  Head Football Coach, Brian Kelly and actor/comedian, Patrick Warburton will be Unveiling The Shirt.  Who knows? We might just have a few surprise guests joining us as well!

• Will there be an opportunity for fans to meet Patrick Warburton?

  • Yes!  Patrick is currently scheduled for a meet & greet with fans near the fireplace inside O’Rourkes from 4:00PM - 4:45PM, with a line forming outside on the patio down Angela Street.  The Shirt will provide headshots for him to autograph as well as a backdrop for photos. This is subject to change depending on Patrick’s schedule. Check our social media pages for any changes.

• Can I buy past Shirts at the event?

  • No. We will only be selling The Shirt 2019.

• In the past, food has been available at The Shirt Unveiling.  What will this look like this year? Where can I get food?

  • We are incredibly excited to partner with the local businesses housed on Eddy Street this year.  Many of the restaurants will have tables and tents set-up outside with samples and deals. See below for the latest deals.  All deals are subject to change without notice:

    • 7-11 - 10 wings for $6, whole pizza for $6

    • Barbici - Small chicken pasta and drink for $6, sample table outside

    • Blaze - 3 pizzas for $21, sample table outside

    • Brother’s - Check with restaurant for deals and specials.

    • Chipotle - Check with restaurant for deals and specials.

    • Five Guys - Check with restaurant for deals and specials.

    • Jimmy Johns - sample table outside with prize wheel

    • Kilwin’s - Check with restaurant for deals and specials.

    • Livery - Check with restaurant for deals and specials.

    • McAlister’s - $2 off any meal with the purchase of a beverage.

    • Nicholas J - For the first hour of the event, they are giving away a mini Aveda hand relief for anyone who donates to Alliance for Great Lakes

    • O’Rourkes - Check with restaurant for deals and specials.

    • Traditions - sample table outside, lunch discount coupons, balloon artist

    • Urban Outfitters - Free embroidery for tees and denim bought in store on 4/12, 10% off in store purchase, 30% off of sale items during the event

    • Wings Over - sample table outside, prize wheel, corn hole game, 1 free order of waffle fries in restaurant per person (no purchase necessary).

Info About The Shirt

• When and where does the line to buy The Shirt start?

  • The line to purchase The Shirt will begin at the southwest entrance to the Hammes Bookstore on Eddy Street.  The line opens up at 3:00PM. The line will remain outdoors until The Shirt is unveiled at 6PM at which point the line will begin to process inside the bookstore for purchase of The Shirt.  There will be ushers and staff members assisting with the line.

• Can I pre-order The Shirt?

  • Yes!  You can visit the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore’s website to pre-order The Shirt.  Note that you will not be able to pre-order and pick-up The Shirt in store on Friday, April 12.  

• How can I purchase The Shirt after the event?

  • The Shirt will remain on sale in store and online at Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore while supplies last.

• How much does the shirt cost?

  • The short sleeve edition of The Shirt costs $18.  The baby onesie costs $18. The long sleeve edition of The Shirt costs $27.  The 30th year commemorative crewneck costs $38.

• What is the commemorative crew?

  • To celebrate 30 years of The Shirt, we have added a limited edition item to our product line while supplies last.  This crewneck will feature a special design (different than that of The Shirt), and once it is unveiled, we are sure that you are going to love the design and the story behind it!

• Can I buy the 30th year commemorative item at the event?

  • Yes!  The 30th year commemorative item will be for sale at the event.  It will cost $38.
