The Shirt Project Names Colosseum its Vendor

NOTRE DAME, Ind., (January 31, 2018) — The Shirt Project at the University of Notre Dame announces the continuation of its partnership with Colosseum Athletics. The company, based out of Compton, California, will serve as The Shirt’s vendor for the second consecutive year. Following a successful season in which more than 130,000 shirts were sold, both The Shirt Committee and Colosseum Athletics are excited to work together to manufacture the best-selling individual item of collegiate apparel in the nation. This year’s edition of The Shirt is scheduled to be unveiled on April 20, 2018.

The Shirt Committee, a group of 16 students at Notre Dame, voted to resume its association with Colosseum Athletics for The Shirt 2018. “We are very excited to partner with Colosseum Athletics for a second year,” The Shirt Project President Kristin Andrejko said. “I am confident that they will help us deliver a quality product that all Notre Dame fans will love.”

“Thank you, Notre Dame, for selecting Colosseum to partner with your committee in the launch of The Shirt 29” said John Pfeifer, senior vice president of Colosseum. “It is an honor to work with your creative staff and student design team again this year. Colosseum looks forward to building on the success of the team's talent and dedication to make this an event to be heard around the world. We share similar goals, values, and traditions and consider this alignment to be a privilege. It is exciting to be a part of the Notre Dame family and enthusiasm which benefits student activities, as well as the fans and local community. Together we will Own The Stands!  GO IRISH!”

Colosseum Athletics will be entering its 26th year as a manufacturer whose primary focus is producing college products for the fans. The quality of their garments and continued commitment to corporate social responsibility, have allowed them to grow into the third largest manufacturer of college apparel in the nation. The Shirt will be made in Vietnam at the Cotton Shop, where Colosseum is in its third year of providing health education to the workforce through an internationally renowned program.  The Shirt then will be imprinted in California.

The upcoming Shirt will mark the Project’s 30th Shirt and 29th year in the Notre Dame community. The first two Shirts were sold in 1990 — the first to commemorate and promote Notre Dame’s game against Michigan and the second for the game against Miami to raise money for the medical bills of a graduate student who had been seriously injured in a car accident.
