The Shirt Project Names Colosseum its Vendor

NOTRE DAME, Ind., (January 30, 2017) — The Shirt Project at Notre Dame proudly announces Colosseum of Compton, California, as its vendor for the 2017 Shirt. This will be the first year of the partnership between The Shirt Project and Colosseum to create and manufacture the best-selling individual item of collegiate apparel in the nation. This year’s edition of The Shirt will be unveiled on April 21, 2017.

The Shirt Committee, a group of 15 students at the University of Notre Dame, voted to partner with Colosseum Athletics after a lengthy selection process that included bids and presentations from several potential vendors.

We are excited to be working with Colosseum this year,” The Shirt Project President Justin McCurdy said. “We believe the partnership between The Shirt and Colosseum will create a great product, allowing us to maximize the impact The Shirt Project has in supporting Notre Dame students. We feel their mission and values strongly align with ours.”

Colosseum will be entering its 25th year as a manufacturer whose primary focus is producing college product for the fans. The quality of their garments and continued commitment to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), have allowed them to grow into the third largest manufacturer of college apparel in the nation. The Shirt will be made in Vietnam at the Colosseum owned Cotton Shop, which is in its 2nd year of providing health education to the workforce through an internationally renowned program. The Shirt then will be imprinted in California.

The upcoming Shirt will mark the Project’s 29th Shirt and 28th year in the Notre Dame community. The first two Shirts were sold in 1990 — the first to commemorate and promote Notre Dame’s game against Michigan and the second for the game against Miami to raise money for the medical bills of a graduate student who had been seriously injured in a car accident.
